Community Info
Several citizens and merchants have been receiving emails, faxes and letters as of late. Many wish to engage you in “Golden Opportunities” and enlist you support or business in what otherwise sounds legitimate. As always, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. So contact your local Better Business Bureau, Law Enforcement or the FBI. But you can also contact the IC3, internet Crime Complaint Center http://www.ic3.gov/default.aspx
“The Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3) is a partnership between the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), the National White Collar Crime Center (NW3C), and the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA).”
The Bishopville Police Department has been made aware of several items of interest. Below you will see copies of but a few of these letters and faxes. DO NOT RESPOND TO THEM.
We have provided external links to the Internet Crime Complaint Center. But, if you feel your life is in danger call your local Police or Sheriff’s Department
More will be added when available
